My step father-in-law turned 61. Time to celebrate!
We're getting Easter eggs. It's so ombre.
One of my favorite childhood memories.
Fun with all things Under the Sea at work.
Enjoying a 60+ degree day with a walk through the park. Mr. Darcy was beyond excited.
My traditional gnocchi Oscars meal. (My food was much better than the Oscars....)

My Beautiful [Highlighted Summer]
In case you aren't on Instagram, or don't follow me, here's a peek at my Insta-Life lately.
[*All photos are taken from my Instagram account.]
Enjoying my morning devotional on the deck with coffee and Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy was quickly over IT.
On our way to Hocking Hills! Mr. Darcy loves going on vacation with us.
Back in June we got our first egg from a chicken. With five chickens, we get a steady five eggs a day. Fresh eggs are wonderful.
My co-workers decorated my office in celebration of my birthday. I love them. They know me so well.
My bestie took me on the wine train for my birthday. It was completely crazy. I love her. She knows me so well.
Drive-in date nights are a summer MUST.
Camping with Nana and Papa.

Brindi

It's October and I'm Back!
Well, HELLO!
(Every time I say this, I do it with Mrs. Doubtfire's voice. I watched that movie waayyy too many times as a child.)
Gosh, I hope y'all had a great summer. A relaxing summer. There for awhile mine was quite wet, actually. We definitely had an odd summer here in Ohio. Even the Summer Reading program at my library was a bit off... Yet, I was still giddy with the idea that it's over and I have time on my hands at work. A little bit of breathing room, filled with hours of weeding and maintaining the collection....and then September hit. Programs started back up and wait, where did summer go? And the calendar is telling me it's October?!?!
A few short words on what I was up to these past few months....
I was in over my head with super hero training and boot camp library programs, surrounded by hundreds of mosquitoes (I couldn't even enjoy my backyard), full on ice cream and fair fries, caffeinated on never-ending glasses of iced coffee, and forever tired because I kept stumbling across crazy-good books and new-to-me series that.I.couldn't.put.down.even.to.get.a.little.shut-eye. <--- I'll talk about these good reads soon! Sadly, we lost a chicken along the way, but the other five are doing just grand.
Mr. B and I were busy with painting and a few home improvement tasks. But in the meantime we had many movie date nights, a couple camping excursions, county fair stops, and spent a long weekend in Frankenmuth. Y'all know how much I love this place! Gahhh, can't get enough. Christmas everywhere. All the time.
Although, I have to admit, it was odd celebrating my love for all things Christmas in 80-degree weather.
Oh, and birthdays were celebrated.
It's good to be back. :)
Next post is coming soon; until then, enjoy cuteness on little legs!

Mr. Darcy Is ONE!!
We are celebrating Mr. Darcy today. My little pumpkin is turning the BIG O-N-E.
This was the day after we brought him home. Ahhh.....where did the time go?!?!
He was eight weeks old. Cute as a button. And CHUNKY.
Mr. Darcy has brought so much joy to our lives.
I can't imagine life without him.
And here we are today.
He's definitely disapproving. Too much holding. Too many pictures. He'd rather be playing with the new toy he's eyeballing.
He's a little stinker, that Mr. Darcy. Scratch that. He's quite a big one.
Just look at small my little boy was! This was back when he was my chunky puddin' cup. Back when he was a ball of energy in the wee morning hours. Back when I wondered if I'd ever be able to sleep in past 6 A.M. again.
I loved watching his little personality develop. He's feisty. He's a wild one. He's stubborn. He likes things done his way. He has demands. He takes after his Dad.
He gives the best cuddles <--- when he wants to.
He will destroy every toy.
He will steal your pretzels.
If you're in the kitchen, he expects something to snack on.
If you visit, he knows you must be there for him.
He will herd you. He likes his people together.
He thinks the entire bed is his. He will not move.
He's a honker.
He has my heart.
I think someone's tired of all the picture taking.
And by that I mean Mr. B.
With Love and God Bless,
Brindi

Family dinner night turned into Happy 60th Birthday (!) to my step father-in-law. It was also a hunker-down-inside-because-it's-only-a-high-of-5-degrees kind of Sunday. Church was cancelled, but thankfully our pastor made an online version available (oh, the joys of technology), Mr. Darcy acted like the big freeze was no big deal, and at least the sunshine was out. Chilly days like these mean catching up on household chores with a high dose of relaxation. I pray your Sunday was just as blessed.

Strawberry-PB2 Protein Smoothie
My Pink Valentine's Day Smoothie.
It wasn't intentional. I just happened to stumble upon a market sale of decently priced and perfectly ripe strawberries. And they actually tasted like strawberries! Here in Ohio, in February, that is quite a find.
Then I went home and put them in my morning shake. The bright pink color screamed Valentine's Day in a mug!
It was gorgeous and tasted just as heavenly. Annnnd it's a decently healthy choice to jump-start your mornings. Annnd I had one every.single.day. last week.
But now I'm out of strawberries. Yes, I'm all too aware I probably won't find that strawberry bargain again until strawberry season actually hits. Frozen strawberries will work, too, in this satisfying pink shake. YUM-O.
It's the perfect pink beverage to kick off that pink holiday coming up....
Strawberry-PB2 Butter Protein Smoothie
*adapted from my Berry Elvis Protein Smoothie
Serves 1 or 2 (if you feel like sharing)
1 6-oz container blueberry coconut milk yogurt
about 1 cup water or 1 c unsweetened almond milk
1/2 - 1 scoop soy vanilla protein powder
1 - 1 1/2 T PB2
1 T chia seeds
5-6 fresh large strawberries (or frozen!)
Pinch of xanthan gum (optional ---> used to thicken smoothie)
3-5 ice cubes, depending on the texture you like
2-3 T of dark chocolate berry granola (I found this one at Aldi...this is completely optional and I added it in on my last day of the smoothie. It's a nice way to make this breakfast smoothie a little more decadent on Valentine's Day.)
*if using frozen strawberries, I wouldn't add the ice.
Toss all of the ingredients in a blender (add the ice last!) and mix until desired consistency is reached. Enjoy! Or split it with your love for a Valentine's Day treat...if he's into smoothies. Mr. B is not. I may be a little too excited I don't have to share.
And a shout out to my Mama....it's her birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday, Mama! xoxo
With Love and God Bless,
Brindi
